Trinity Presbyterian Women

OUR PURPOSE

As followers of Jesus Christ,

we meet for prayer and Bible Study,

we help make disciples by supporting

local and worldwide missions, and

we show love for others as God directs us.

OUR ORGANIZATION

Trinity Presbyterian Women (TPW) is the women's ministry unit of the church.  Women meet monthly in Circles for worship, prayer, study, fellowship, evangelism, and service. TPW is headed by a Coordinating Team that oversees the two Circles that are currently active and the other ministries of the organization. All women in the church are encouraged to join a Circle.

OUR MEETINGS

Lydia Circle - Meets the first Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the Library.

Lois Circle - meets the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the Library.

Coordinating Team - Meets the 3rd Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Christian Education Room.

OUR MINISTRIES

  • The Clothes Closet is the mission of Trinity Presbyterian Women and serves the community of Sparta and the surrounding area. Each Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., volunteers staff the "free" clothing store that is housed in the church, providing good, free clothing to the community. Donations of good, clean clothing are always accepted and can be left downstairs in Fellowship Hall.

  • Trinity Quilters  meet every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Sewing Room. Quilters make and donate quilts and/or lap robes for residents of Randolph County Care Center and Coulterville Care Center. They also make and donate baby quilts for the Sparta Pregnancy Care Center. Individuals enlist their help with quilting projects and monies received fund the Quilters' projects. New quilters of any age are always welcome.

  • Randolph County Care Center Bingo is conducted by Trinity Presbyterian Women volunteers on the last Tuesday of each month (except December) beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the cafeteria of RCCC. Approximately 25 residents participate each month, enjoying the game and the treats  provided by volunteers.

  • Prayer Wheel requests are made to the Prayer Wheel Coordinator who begins notification to those who wish to be included in a prayer group. The purpose of the Prayer Wheel is to lift those in need to the Lord in prayer.

  • The Kitchen Ministry serves the church by overseeing the church kitchen and managing congregational dinners or other events involving food when requested to do so. A special function of The Kitchen Ministry is to serve a funeral dinner to bereaved families upon the death of a church member or in other special circumstances.

  • The Service of Thanks is planned and conducted by Trinity Presbyterian Women during worship on a Sunday near Thanksgiving. A guest speaker involved in mission is invited to give the sermon and a special offering is received in support of that mission. The entire service is focused on being thankful.

  • The Greeting Card & Sunshine Pal Ministries are ways Trinity Presbyterian Women care for the elderly, infirm, and homebound. Each Circle has Sunshine Pals they remember with cards, gifts, or visits.
